Diorama Titanic

For this this week I created a Diorama about the Titanic and researched about its voyage and its history about the Titanic. The Titanic is known for one of historys most famous sinking and from this day still is. I also created a Google video to explain why I picked my topic the Titanic for famous history events.

Day and Night

For this task I created a Day and night rotation info, and a AI image of the day Turing into night. As the Earth rotates, the side facing the sun experiences daylight, while the side facing away from the sun is in darkness, experiencing nighttime.

Dinosoar egg

Our challenge was to become a palaeontologist who uncovered a rare dinosaur egg fossil. We used Adobe Express to reimagine what a real find might look like. After a quick research challenge about habitat we used that information to create our image. My partner and I found the skeleton of a XXX. Add an interesting fact about your dinosaur here.

Facts About The Trex

For this task me and my group created a DLO about the facts of a Trex and researched all abouts its habitat, Diet, Strength, Protection, Movment and Fun Facts. I enjoyed this task because I got to learn about a Trex life and all about what the Trex does. Something I foun d difficult was trying to research about its protection because I didn’t know what protects a Trex.

Fossils

LI: The different types of fossils.

Our challenge was to create a Google Draw that shows clearly labelled  examples of each fossil type. Something I found interesting was that their are still dinasaurs fossils out their thyat have are hidden underground for millions of years.

What is a palaeontoligist

LI: What is a palaeontoligist and what they do.

Our challenge was to create a 50 word statement that tells us what paleontology is and what palaontologists do. We found out that Mary Anning was the first ever palaeontoligist I found this task intresting  because I have never heard of an palaeontoligist and found out that they studie the field of the history from life on earth.

Matariki Stars

LI: Identify Matariki as the Māori New Year and explain its cultural importance.

For this task I found out about the Matariki New Year and all about the 9 stars. Matariki is a time to celebrate the lunar new year and to spend time with family, make stronger bonds with eachother, Honnor our ancestors that have walked before us, and to look forward  into the futrue. Something I found interesting was that Matriki disappears in may and early june due to the sun because it can get to close which blocks our view of the 9 stars. It then reappears in late june or early july making it easier to see the star clusters.

Whakaari – White Island

LI: To discuss the impact of volcanoes on the environment and human communities.

My  challenge was to research the impact of a specific volcanic eruption in Aotearoa. We could choose from Mt Tarawera or Whakaari. We found out about wharaari white island and researched about its recent eruptions. I found this task interesting because whakaari white island had a eruption that was so fatal to the people on the island.
