Setting Descriptions

This week I learnt about the setting which is one of the elements of a narrative story.  Here are my descriptions of 2 different settings.

The stairs lead to the sky.

I can hear the sea and waves are just flowing down the sand. The blissful flowers blossom as I walk up. It is very wonderful, the flowers smells like no other. I can feel my presence with God everytime I walk up.

The best thing about this experience is that there will be no more pain, anger and violence. Everything up here is unique, because my spirit is with the king himself.

The sound of battle cries and explosions linger in the distance.

This is a place of horror, fear and distraction, it will never end. A huge castle stands with smoke coming out of it.  It is surrounded by air carriers and aircrafts. The castle is nestled in a humongous mountain far above.

You smell blood as soon as you get up to the top. I can feel myself shivering with fear and I say to myself “I have never experienced this much fear in my life.” There is nothing unique about this place these are my final words “ NEVER COME UP HERE!”

First I had to pick two of the pictures Miss Tele’a gave us to choose from that had different settings. Then I had to write a paragraph that vividly describes the setting, using sensory details and descriptive language. For example if I was explaining about a castle on a hill I would write something more descriptive like this :  “I can see a huge castle in the distance that is on top of a huge hill.”  Here are the two images I picked and the descriptions I wrote for them.
