Cultural tatau

For this task we researched different tattoos about our culture. We looked at three different cultures that you could choose from to research about and find the different history behind the tattoo. The three cultures that I picked were Maori, Tonga, and Samoa. I researched about how the tatau/tattoo was created and looked for the different meanings. Lastly, we created a presentation and presented our work. One thing I found interesting about this task is that Samoa tattoos are about 3,000  years old.

Why is sleeping important

LI: To explain why sleeping is important and to read images and make inferences.

For this task me and my group discovered all about sleep and how the human body functions while you sleep. Sleeping can help cause your body to reset after the present day it can also help you gain more energy over time. Heathy sleeping can cause  you to wake up more early and be a healthy sleeper. To become a healthy sleeper you would have to have a good sleeping schedule and be on time to wake up early. In the human body there are two sides awake and asleep. The awake side can cause your eyes to stay open due to the intense brightness that you’re eyes sense. The asleep side can cause your eyes to stay closed because of the non brigtenes that enters your room at night, but technoly can cause you to not have a healthy sleep because of the brightness that you see on your phone. I found intersting about this task is that sleeping is essentetle for the human body because withourt sleeping your body could be in total damge because your body needs more sleep than anything else because you can save up energy for the next day.

Comrades Marathon

LI: To make connections with myself, text, world

For this task our reading group learnt about the comrades marathon. The comrades marathon is a super human race that takes part in South Africa, it is a 87 kilometers race that is not only a straight race but is also a marathon that goes uphill and downhill. To compete in this marathon you would have to train your strength, body stamina, and endurance. Something I found interesting about the comrades race is that it is the world’s largest and oldest ultramarathon race.

Born To Run

LI: To make connections (self, text, world)

LI: To identify the main ideas – negotiation game

LI: To make inferences about the events in the text using the clues provided by the author.

For this task me and my group read about a story called Born to Run, this story was about a man who wanted to become fit and help support his family. In the text Arthour lydiard became the most famous New Zealand runner/trainer because of his daily runs and his fit body. arthur lydiard was one of the fastest New Zealand athletes and the most popular. He would always train his strength, speed and stamina because he wanted to become really fit.

Reading – Viloet Walrond

LI: To make connections (self, text, world)

LI: To identify the main ideas – negotiation game

LI: To make inferences about the events in the text using the clues provided by the author.

LI: To practise skimming and scanning by looking for keywords in the text when answering questions

For this task our guided reading text was about a girl called Viloet Walrond. We worked collaboratively as a group to unpack the text and answer questions using evidence from the text to support our thinking. All our responses were written in the comments tool. Our learning this week was to help our buddies to include more detail in their answers. We ddi this by giving feedback on one of their answers and asking them a question so they had to explain their thinking in more detail.

Information Report Bengal Swamp Tigers

For this task I used our smart searching skills to find facts about the Bengal Swamp Tiger. Once we had found the information we needed we made notes in our words. We used these notes to help us write our information reports. Information reports give readers with information that is talking about the main topic.

LI: to write an information report that informs the reader about the swamp tiger.

One of the most interesting and most majestic cats in the world. The (Panthera Tigris Tigris) also known as the Swamp Tiger. These savage beasts have the ability to swim with their 4 strong legs and with their agility to hunt prey in the water (speed). These wildlife creatures are an endangered species in the animal kingdom because of deforestation and terrain loss. Because of humans hunting the Swamp Tiger it’s becoming popular for others to capture. As strange as it may seem these furrocious beats have the strength of thirty men which makes this cat really tough.

This beast is a ferocious mammal with an appearance of orange fur and black stripes, these fur help them stay camouflaged between the night of prey. These beats have powerful jaws, razor sharp claws, and massive body length. As interesting as it looks these cats have Enormous teeth that bite through bones and a terrifying killer.

The Bengal Swamp Tiger is an furrocious eater as well as what it eats. These beasts are carnivores (meat eaters) which makes them known to only eat meat as well as wild boar, deer, fish, and crabs.

The swamp tigers are capable of hunting larger prey, young rhinos and buffalo.

The Swamp Tigers habitat is mostly the Sundarban delta forest which is located in Asia or mostly aquatic landscapes. These beats are also known to be found in southwest Asia and swampy mangroves. Have you ever known about the swamp tigers and where they live?

Did you know that swamp tigers have a staggering strength that is so strong that they could carry them for over 1 mile. These terrifying beats only hunt alone at night to use their camouflage fur to blend in their surroundings.

The Bengal Swamp Tiger is an endangered animal in the animal kingdom barely having any more rare species left in the world because of human civilization taking over their home habitat.

Swamp Tigers

LI: To create a multi-modal DLO that tells others about  swamp tigers.

For this task our challenge was to make our own multi – modal DLO talking about the swamp tiger and researching new information about its Habitat, Appearance, Diet, and Behaviour.

I enjoyed this task because I leanrt new things about a new animal called the swamp tigers.

Moment In Time

LI: The 3 different sences.

For this task my group reserched about a polar bear video and looked at what we could see, hear, and feel. For example.

Heard.I heard the paws of the pale brute land on top of the weak plastic shield, rumbling the cage trying to break their way into the fresh meat hiding inside.

Saw. I saw the menacing black dots appearing to be creeping towards me, I gazed upon the pale entity through my brittle cage as it scratched and rammed its huge torso into the only thing that stood between me and certain death.

Care values

LI: To write about the 4 values.

For this task I wrote about the 4 different care values and why it is imortant to have ome of them for example C. for confidence A. for attitude R. for respect and E. for exellence.
